FEM English News, Jakarta – Jakarta Film Week (JFW) returns for its fifth edition with the theme REIGNITE, symbolizing renewed passion and collective energy in Indonesia’s vibrant film ecosystem. Held from October 22–26, 2025, the festival continues its mission to spotlight emerging talent, expand industry networks, and position Jakarta as a global cinema hub.
Hosted across iconic venues including CGV Grand Indonesia, FX Sudirman, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Hotel Mercure Cikini, and Galeri Indonesia Kaya, the festival also offers online screenings on VIDIO, making it accessible nationwide.
Growing Global Influence
Since its 2021 debut, JFW has grown exponentially:
Film submissions up by 55%
Audience attendance surged 250%, reaching 170,000+ viewers in 2024
Expanded participation from four continents, including Africa for the first time
Rano Karno, Vice Governor of Jakarta, emphasized the festival’s key role in Jakarta’s transformation into a Cinema City by 2027, strengthening the capital’s position as a City of Cinema.
